"In 1992 Windsor became Sonoma County's newest incorporated Town, but
our roots go back into the last century.
In 1855, Windsor emerged
as an agriculture town, with the rolling hills and plains
reminding an early settler, Hiram Lewis, of the English
countryside surrounding Windsor Castle; hence the name.
While still an emerging new town, where neighborhood pride of ownership
prevails, we also proudly preserve our historic heritage.
Our
small town feel is complemented by: modern shopping centers;
youth, senior and community centers; and convenient health care
centers and schools."
